Well I have some time to do a report now.  This race was quite the experience for me.  Learned alot of stuff from this one.  I really enjoyed seeing all the people that I know.  I am not even going to try and name them all.  Since there was so many.  It was great to have a running group and wished it would of worked out alot better in the end for us all.  It was great running with MarcE, Jeffc, Mike Warren, JonA, Chad, Dace.  And the few others that joined our group along the way.  It was tough trying to keep a group on pace then if it was just me or 1 or 2 other people.  It was great for the company.  Would I wished we would of been able to keep it going.  We lost MarcE at around mile 5.  Next dropped was at mile 11 with JonA disappearing.  After that it was Mike, Jeff and me.  And then I dropped off at the hill and mile 18 or so.  Really started fighting the doom and gloom from losing time and feeling the body did'nt have the strong finish left to keep up the paces.  Mike tryied to rally Jeff and I on the hill.  But my GI was giving me alot of greif and wasn't letting up.  And they left me in the wake.  At mile 22 is when it got worse.  Each time I would take in more water or gatorade.  It would act up until I could burp a few times.  And even tryied to use the restroom with no luck.  I had nothing left in me and just kept putting it in auto pilot.  It was very rough watch as the 3:20 group passed me around 22ish.  And then around 24ish the 3:30.  I was able to somehow meet up with Jeff again just as you come off of Diagonal street.  And we rallied together.  He kept me going off and on and wouldnt leave me side.  He was determined to get me my PR.  And as we got into the shoot I had me first real cramp in my hammy.  And had to stop.  And was able to get going again.  Heard and saw my family cheering and Jeff said something about getting some road kills and I just gave it all that I had left.  Felt like I passed maybe 10-15 people in that last little sprint.  And felt really good about being done.  With a 1min and 4 sec PR thanks to Jeff keeping me going.  It was great running with all my friends.  And seeing how well RivertonPaul, Fly, Scott and a few others at the end do on there goals.  Kathie with getting her PR.  And Kristi doing her 2nd marathon with a 22 min PR.  With a bad achillies.  I am so proud of her and how she was able to do so well.  Again I learned alot from this race.  And feel that even though I didn't get my BQ I am getting closer and learned alot more in this training cycle.  I felt really confident coming into this one with my training.  But I have a few things I am going to change up to get there come either at Ogden or SG next year.  Looking forward to resting for a week or 2 and going for it again.:)

Sorry about the issues, that stinks! but you had a solid race and did your best, and that is what counts! It was great to see you and chat for a second.

From Teena on Sat, Oct 03, 2009 at 23:51:10 from 74.211.26.22

A PR is a PR!! :)

PR, and you can learn from this. Keep up the great attitude and good things will continue to come.

Mark, great race! It was a lot of fun to run with you and talk on the phone after. BQ or not your a great runner and a better person. Just keep having fun and chipping away. You are very talented and I have no doubt you will get that BQ one day. Anytime you want to run a race together let me know.

Andy- Thanks Andy:) Going the right direction at least.:)

Kelli- Yeah it was great seeing you and Scott at the finish. I saw Scott run by me in the 20s somewhere and was looking strong. You should be very proud of him.

Teena- Yeah it was great seeing you too. You made it too!!

Paul- Yeah it was a PR so I am happy with that. Got alot of things to learn from it. And have a few months to make those changes.:) It was great seeing you at the finish. 2:51 OH YEAH!!!!

Mike- Dude I really enjoyed running with you man. Really it was one of the high points of the race. Anytime you want to run together you just let me know. We are both getting closer to that 3:15. Lets get health and train smart this go around and who knows we might just be going sooner then later.:) I will still have to think about CIM.:)

Sorry it didn't work out as planned. Glad to hear you still got the PR. You'll hit the BQ next time, I'm sure.

From MarcE on Mon, Oct 05, 2009 at 12:06:02 from 172.191.222.199

You did great, Mark-O! It was great spending some time with you, Kristi, and your dad after the race!

A PR is awesome! You're going in the right direction, and have the positive attitude that will get you that goal, next time!!!

From Kathie on Mon, Oct 05, 2009 at 12:27:23 from 63.248.105.188

Nice PR Mark you will get that BQ for sure!!!!

From DonGardinero on Mon, Oct 05, 2009 at 14:03:05 from 75.162.162.176

Congrats on the PR!!! But a real bummer about the GI problems. Hey, maybe you should look at the Utah Valley marathon next year. They changed their course again and now it starts further up the canyon and they eliminated the entire trail section in the city that goes down to Utah Lake. Now when you come out of the canyon you get on University Avenue and take that all the way to the finish. Check out the course map and elevation chart at www.runuv.com. I think Slick is considering this one as well. I'd like to do it again. It's a Boston Qualifier, too. Hey, it was great seeing you this weekend.

From Cal on Mon, Oct 05, 2009 at 16:08:19 from 66.133.117.3

Congrats on another PR Mark! Just keep working hard and your BQ will come. That's cool that you were able to start and finish with Jeff.

From DonGardinero on Mon, Oct 05, 2009 at 19:45:54 from 152.216.7.5

Hey Mark, thanks for calling this morning. I missed your call while I was taking the kids to school.

From daceg on Tue, Oct 06, 2009 at 01:35:34 from 74.211.28.156

It was nice to have the group run together. I was so zoned out by mile 19 that I wasn't sure where we broke up. Anyway, great job on digging deep! Keep working, and we will see you next year at the SG! What'd ya say-we all cross on the safe side of 3:15 next year!

From Dave S on Tue, Oct 06, 2009 at 11:22:22 from 4.254.226.32

Congrats on the PR. That BQ will come. Looks like you were on pace to be close to it for most of the race.

From Jon A on Tue, Oct 06, 2009 at 18:11:56 from 67.214.249.195

Good job Mark! You were awesome. Thank you so much for getting me as far as 11. I had a better time because I hung with you guys. It was awesome to stick with you. Thank you for keeping track of the pace, I know that is taxing mentally.

We'll both get BQ, its just a matter of when!

From Smooth on Thu, Oct 08, 2009 at 17:25:40 from 174.23.252.244

Mark! CONGRATS again! Sorry this is late! Life's been crazy lately. Hey! IT WAS SO SO SO SO FUN to hang with you and Kristi as always! Can't wait to see you two in our next race.
