Took today off from work to get ready for the trip down and the race.  Went out and did 3 miles tried to keep them slower.  But didnt work as well as I hoped for.  Mid mile was alot faster then I wanted and but pulled the last mile back up into the 8s.  And felt really good to the end of it.  Was try to focus on my strides and form.  I am getting so pumped up for this race.  I need to get a bunch of small things done tonight and so I can be ready for it.

Well I wasnt able to hit my goal of BQing at this one.  Had to make 2 pit stops at mile 6 and again at 12.  Losing about 5-7 mins time.  So I just tried to make the best of it without cramping till the end.  And so Splits were good till the PoP visit and fought off some mean deamons as my time slipped away.  I am happy though that I was able to run the grand slam and finish it.  I had my doubts.  But as for next yr I hope to get into SG without having to run it.  And being better prepared for it.  Now I can start working on getting recovered and ready to do build up more milage and get some speedwork in.  And such..  Sorry not much of a report right now.  Maybe next time will be the race.

Just had to go out and test the legs out and see how they were doing.  Wanted to get a better recovery from this one since I dont have a big race coming up soon.  So went with the plan of just doing 3 miles or so.  Well first mile was nice and slow around 9:10 and felt good really good considering.  And right before the 2nd mile noticed I was under 8 mins and backed off a bit hitting 8:01.  Next mile was a bit faster to at 8:16.  Thought ok I felt good.  Really good.  And wanted to end it with that.  Wanted more of a recovery run but was running more on feel.  And any small soreness I felt before the run is now gone.  Got to love it.  I just felt so alive during this run.

Well I made it with only one day of running this week.  Man was it hard.  But I feel quite recovered.  I will start back up training again on Mon.  Really it was harder then I thought not to run then ever to run.  But should help me out alot.

Was a interesting sight with the snow and the changing of the season.  Makes you wonder where fall went.  Rested again today.  And will start back up on Mon running again.  Hopefully I am recovered well enough to start again.  Will start it nice and easy.

Finally got out and ran today.  Felt really good but faster then I wanted on this run.  Couldnt really see my splits with my jacket on.  Ran down at the park 4 laps.  Kind of windy too.  I will have to go do more shopping for some warm clothing.  Been a while since I ran and was wanting 6.  At mile 3 I was feeling it was good but kept going and started feeling better.  Ended up hitting the 6 I was wanting to do.  So all is good.

Well I lost focus at the first of this run.  I was planning on making it a speed workout.  Since it was cold out and wanted to stay warm.  Was just wearing my new SGM shirt.  But like I said I lost focus and was thinking about running my next race.  As the first mile ticked off at 7:21 decided to just make a time trial out of it and go a faster.  2nd mile came at 6:56 and 3rd 6:41 last bit was 35 secs later.  I think I could of really done better on it if I would of warmed up right but just didnt want to slow down after getting going.  But it felt really good to run fast.  I am looking forward to doing more speed work again.  I love the feeling of running fast.  Next time I will warm up and then start it.  Instead of deciding to do a 5k 2k into it.

Got up at 3 to get in a run before work.  Was nice and cool with the moon out.  First time wearing the really warm jacket and tights.  And it was just right.  Just a nice recovery run.  With last mile a bit faster(downhill).

Meet up with Teena and the gang for a run at on the JRP.  Was a nice run and was able to see some people I havent seen for a while.  Not much to report besides Teena hitting a man hole and going down next to me.  She was just skinned up a little bit on her hands.  And I hope nothing else.  So was nice to meet up with them and will try to do all my long runs on Sat with them unless racing throughout the winter.

Rested today.  Actually ended up attending church for the first time in a long time.  I plan on making this a habit again.  I really think it will help to get me more balanced again.  And now just seems like the perfect time.

Well this one was going to be some speed work.  But not sure of the times since the garmin kept shutting off on me.  I hope it isnt something serious.  But enjoyed it still the same.  Just a few laps around the park.  It is sure gets cold fast with then the sun drops down though.

Got to bed nice and early just after 8pm to get up and get my early morning run.  It was just right for the most part.  Not to hot and not to cold.  I always seem to get a breeze when I hit the Foothill portion of this run and it wasn't to chill this morning.  I am sure I will have to change it up though as the weather really gets bad.  No garmin today.  So I relaxed the first loop and the 2nd one I pushed it alot harder.  I am sure for 2 of those miles I was in the 7s easily and last one down in the 6s.  Got to get that thing working again.  But it was nice not having it at times too.  Mostly at the first waiting for it to get going.

This was kind of a race day.  Warmed up running 11 or so miles and then ran a 5k race.  Tieing for first place with a 60 yr old guy that ran also at least 10+ miles with the group that started out.  It was alot of fun.  I dont recommend though running a 11 mile warm up and expect to PR at your 5k.  Finished with 22:21 but tied for first on it.  Was alot of fun not sure about paces for the whole run or total distance at mile 5 turned it off and didnt relize till we meet back up with Smooth that we hadn't turned it on when Teena and I went for some faster miles.  Was a good morning and won a pocket knife at the raffle.  So it was all good.

Went out after work.  Around the park a few laps.  Had a good run.  Here are my splits 8:27, 7:46, 7:39, 7:24, 6:59, 6:53..  Felt pretty good besides the sloshy tummy.  The more eventful part was going to the Smiths on the way home.  And had a flat tire.  ARGH!!  But it is all good.  Amazing what a good run will do for you.

I am needing to get my tire fixed from last night flat.  So was able to get in a recovery long run.  Ran down to the park did 4 laps and back home.  Was a nice morning for a run.  Was able to even make it back in time to get the garbage out before the truck got here. Yippee.  That sure is a mean hill coming home.  Took it nice and easy going down though since it was more recovery run after last night run.

Another early morning run.  I better stop this or it might become a habit.:)  Just 2 loops around the block.  Knee seems to pop for at least the first mile for some reason.  I think its the slant in the road.  I will try the other direction next time.  Did 4 hill sprints on this run.  With the last one being the steepest and longest.  Felt really good and recoveries were fast.  Overall it was another good run besides the knee popping.
