Well I met up with Tim at 7am to start our run down at the parkway.  He had mentioned his furthest run was around 10 miles.  So figured we would see how he would do going 17.  Well more like 6 and then go from there.  He ran just fine the whole time.  And was really suprised that he ran 17 miles.:)  The paces was nice and slow.  Took us around 3:15 and like a 12 min pace.  So much slower then what I should of ran for my training.  But was a good long run none the less.  His poor shoes were really really shot.  And was really bad with a lot of holes.  So after the run we ran up the Wasatch running center and got him hooked up.  He was a size 12 and not the size 13 that he was wearing.:(  He also runs like 6-7 days a week 6.4 miles each day.  So we are going to get him going on a training program to run a marathon.  And boy does he already have a really strong base already.  Was a great run.

Mark, you're such a nice friend to mentor Tim. I'm sure he really appreciates your company and your taking him under your wings! GREAT JOB in so many levels! :)

Very very very cool!

We need to get the chumps together again -- and add to them. It would be great to get a big enough group on Saturdays that everyone could have someone to run with at their pace.

Smooth- Yeah he is a great guy. With a lot of untapped potential. Cant wait to see what he can do.

Teena- We did run into Jean and also JohnnyV on the run. Was hoping to see more chumps out there on the run. Yeah try and see if we can get the chumps together. I am sure Tim would really like that too. He was really impressed with how many people were down there running on the trail. And wants to go back again for sure.:)

Good run, good day, super thoughtful of you to take him out like that. If a guy can run 6 or 7 every day it is no surprise he can run 17 without too much trouble.
