3:30 wake up call came right on schedule.  Ankle felt alot better then it has all week.  So got up and did a run around the block.  Just a nice recovery run.  Temp was 34 so it wasnt bad at all.  The first lap I kept it nice and slow.  Next I had to try to keep it slow.  The ankle felt like a 3/10 the first half.  2nd half I didnt really even feel it at all.  Feeling good about running again.  Few more nice and easy runs and it should be back to normal.

awesome to hear that your ankle is improving. good job!

From Teena on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 11:39:56

Good stuff there Mark!!

3:30 though??? Seriously??? :)

From huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 11:47:44

Cal- I think its at about 70% now. Much improved I figure another couple slow and easy ones. And I will be back to normal.

Teena- LOL ya if I want to get in a good workout before work I got to get up that early. I leave to work at 6am. Oh I will be moving soon closer to work. So instead of the 30 min commute it will be like 5-10. Then I can sleep in till like 4 LOL.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 12:23:10

Glad to hear your ankle is better! I second Teena though... 3:30 sounds painful!

From Kathie on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 12:49:00

What happend to running after work? Did it get to dark and scary for you? :)

From Rhett on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 12:57:27

OK Mark, I gotta ask, what are you doing with all your time in the morning? Wake up, 3:30, through on the running gear, drink a glass of water, out the door by 3:40, 3:45 at the latest. Run for 53:15...I'll call it an hour in case there is any warm up or cool down built up. Home by 4:45. Now your telling me it takes you an hour and 15 mins to get dressed and through down some breakfast. I say sleep a little longer and get ready faster!!! LOL. I do admire your diligence in getting up and running though, especially in that freezing weather up there. Keep it up.

From Rhett on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 12:58:26

Once again I am proving I can't spell. I know how to spell throw, really.

From Teena on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:04:05

Rhett,

Mark is kind of a pretty boy ... he likes to look good for the ladies so he takes his time getting all suave and such!! :) :) :)

From Rhett on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:15:22

That's what I was worried about. Well, I guess if I were single, maybe I'd spend more time primping too.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:27:47

Well according to that picture he doesn't need much to look good ;)

From huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:51:53

Lucia- Ya its quite early that is for sure.

Kathie- Oh I would normally run later tonight. But I get my girls every Thurs night. So no time. I will most like run tomorrow early too. Since I am going to the Jazz game. OH YEAH!!!

Rhett- K is the breakdown. Goal is to get out the door by 4am. So get up get changed. Drink something then roll out my legs. By that time I can get out the door. Do the run around the block. Back before 5am 15-20 of more stretchs and log run. 5:20 normal get up time shower, eat, get lunch ready(10 mins there since I eat 3 meals at work) out the door by 6 to get to work by 6:30. It seems to take me a bit longer to get ready for winter running then any other time of the yr.

Teena- LOL you crack me up. I am no pretty boy. There is rarely anyone on the road driving. I did pass a biker though this morning. LOL I did use to shower before going to the gym though.

Rhett- Hey you never know who you will meet on a run.:)

Lucia- Well Thanks Lucia. I wish I always look like that.

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:13:56

HOORAY!!! Your ankle is all better. Now I know all about your early morning "primping" ritual.

Did you say you "pass" a biker? WOW, you're booking it in the dark.

Yeah, you never know who you will meet on a run...another "die hard" like yourself...at 4 AM!!!

I agree with Lucia. You ALWAYS look like that...especially in the day light.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:26:50

Hmmm... Note to self: go out running at 4 am to meet single runner guys ;)

From huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 15:34:58

Smooth- Yeah passed her going the other way of course. I was going uphill and her down. Besides I am keeping it slow. Good thing she wasnt going the same direction or I would of had to pick it up a notch.:) I do every morning though on the way pass 5-10 people out running and biking within the first mile on the way to work.

Lucia- Most of the single women or at least the ones I think are single are way to fast for me to keep up with. I do like running in the parks. You get to see and meet alot of nice people there.

From DonGardinero on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 16:31:32

Mark-O!!!

You are extreme!!! At 3:30 I was only asleep for an hour when you got up. Way to go. You have a lot more will power than I do. Keep it up.

Mark...I forgot to ask where you are moving to.

From huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 17:56:05

Hmm its like West Valley I think. Out off of like 5600w 4700s I think. My bro's place. Oh btw I went to bed at 8pm though so I still got alot of sleep.

From DonGardinero on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 18:47:10

Mark...

I grew up in that area.

From tarzan on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 19:01:47

I keep looking for single guys when I run in the early morning - but they must be running in the dark on the other side of the road.

I will NOT get out the door at 4 AM to pickup runners. 5 is bad enough.

From Huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 20:09:54

Dale- I am not totally sure of the loc. But it should be nice. I might join back up at the gym I use to workout at on Jordan Landing. Or do the olympic oval for my runs. Till I get more comfortable running around there.

Tarzan- LOL your to funny. Yeah I am not bold enough to talk about anything other then running or races. Let alone find out of someone is single or not. At least your out there looking right?? Would be nice to find someone that runs your paces and well runs too.

From DonGardinero on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 21:02:33

mark...

Oh yeah, I forgot they have that running track at the Olympic Oval. That'd be pretty cool.

Dale

From tarzan on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 21:05:12

LOL - I'm good about talking - but have still been too chicken to join the dating world again yet. Yeah - I'd love to find someone to run with - and it would be cheaper than going out to dinner. :)

The Olympic Oval is a nice place to go on Saturdays when the roads are really crappy and it is cold out and you want to do a long run. Last year Leslie and I did it a few times - I bought a lap counter to keep track of how many times I went around.

From huans32 on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 22:10:45

Thats a great idea. I was wondering how I would know how fast and how many times I would be doing them since its indoors. Might just be good for those nice recovery runs where it doesnt matter time wise. I tell you what the dating world isnt that bad its just some of them people in it.:) And I am all for a cheap date.

From Lucia on Fri, Dec 05, 2008 at 13:17:54

Running groups are great to meet other single runners - in this area there are lots of meetup.com groups that are very cool, and the running stores have weekly runs too. Running, biking or hiking dates are so fun, much much better than being stuck in a loud restaurant facing each other all night, with all the pressure on you, right?
