Had a good run today.  Went for a tempo run for the most part.  Had one bad mile in the middle.  Of where I was going to slow down and then decided to make the last a cool down.  Splits are.. 7:45, 6:52, 7:07, 7:14, 7:53, 7:28, 7:36, .6 cooldown  Had one mishap on the run.  Right around mile 7 hit a couple pinecones and have a bit of a limp in my ankle for say.  Going to take some drug and stretch it good.  And see how it goes.

Sounds like a great run Mark. Nice pace!

From fly on the wall on Tue, Nov 18, 2008 at 23:06:13

Nicely done Mark.

I've had pinecone ankle myself. You've got to lookout for those little buggers.

From Smooth on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 00:03:50

Very nice tempo run, great pace. I'll have to be on the lookout for pinecones next time I run around a park. Hope no damage done to the ankle.

From Teena on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 01:03:28

Mark ...

Man alive!! What do you mean one bad mile in the middle??? You're awesome!

From huans32 on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 07:54:51

Cal- Thanks Cal it did feel good. Till the pinecone. But it was right close to 7 miles so I got a good few in before that.

Fly- Ya I am going to have to change it up and not cut across the lawn. LOL I hit like 4-5 in that little stretch all on the same foot.:)

Smooth- Hmm as for the ankle this morning. I was going to go out for a run since I got a daddy daughter get together tonight. And had the wrong time set to get up early. But its feeling alot better to walk on. No limp just a little sore on the inside.

Teena- LOL thanks for the kind words. The bad one was where I was going to slow the pace down. After I saw another runner I took off going fast again. ARGH it is that competetive side. I had alot of road kill on that run LOL only one guy past me too. And I then stayed up with him and then got way ahead of him LOL. Ya we were racing. Or at least I was.:)

Mark-O...

I don't know about you, but I have a hard time running on grass just from the uneven surface. I feel like I tweak my ankles with every step. Too bad about that slow mile(rolling my eyes).

I hope your ancle is better today! looks like you had a good run other wise!

From huans32 on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 13:04:54

Dale- Ya I feel the same way on the grass and with all the leaves it is even hard to see the grass trail. It seem faster to run on the grass trail over the woodchips. But harder to see. Also when I crossed over the grass it was coming from the concrete which is even faster then the grass trail by like 15 secs. But maybe I will just stick to the sidewalks more and not cut corners in the future.

Kathie- Yep it is feeling alot better today. I havent tried it out running yet. But I am not hobbling I was only before posting and before my stretch. Much better today so far at least.:)

Hey Mark, I don't know if you ever saw my post a couple of weeks ago when I asked if you want to run a race next year. The race is the Buffalo Run out on Antelope Island. I'm planning on the 25K as a training run for my ultra. I think the race is March 28th. Whaddya say?

Dale

From huans32 on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 13:52:44

Are you asking me to come and pace you on it?? Or to come race it? I could pace you on it if you would like. It would be my 3rd race in 3 weeks LOL. Not that I dont think I can do it. Just wondering what your goal is.

From DonGardinero on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 15:00:01

Either way man, pace or race. Yeah, I forgot you already have two other races planed before that. No worries if you don't feel like doing it.

From Kimmy on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 18:27:39

If I wasn't mad at you I would tell you great run and nice splits. But since you are voting for Kathie to beat me at the Turkey trot I wont say it!!! I bet you are also voting for Utah this weekend. You really need to get your priorities straight.

From DonGardinero on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 19:09:03

Mark...Here is the website for that race, if you're interest.

http://www.buffalorun.org/

By the way, the race director has a blog on here. His name is Ultrajim.

Kimmy- Hey Kimmy how are you there?? I am shocked to hear your upset at me.:) All I am try to say is it is hard to cheer for you if we dont know what your doing in your training is all. I would vote for you anyday just dont tell Kathie that.:) I didnt know you guys had something going on this weekend.

Dale- I am tempted to doing that race with you. I will just have to see. And if I do I wouldnt mind just pacing you on it. To get more of a feel for those races.

From Kimmy on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 19:43:40

Nothing going this weekend....just calling you a Ute Fan...I mean if you are willing to vote for Kathie you would vote for anyone

From huans32 on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 19:45:40

OH NO YOU DIDNT!!! I might live on the Utes doorstep and the door to my house is paint RED. But I am true BLUE!! GO COUGARS!!!

From DonGardinero on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:00:34

Mark...

That would be really cool if you could do that race and pace me. I think it would be around 15 miles for the 25k

From Kathie on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:12:00

Mark, Mark, Mark, You are in so much trouble! You can't dig yourself out of this hole.... so really who are you going to cheer for. You should know better than trying to please two women at once let alone sisters!

I guess I will let you off the hook... you can cheer for Kimmy...after all most people love to cheer for the underdog anyway:)

From huans32 on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:18:38

Oh Kathie for the race most definitely you of course. I know your going to kick her socks off. I do feel like I am in a hole but its ok. Since a little friendly competition seems to help me even that much more. I am just glad you guys love each other so much that you wouldnt let a little old 5K change that much. And since I know Kristy is the fastest of the 3 of you. Since she is the youngest.:)

From Kimmy on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:50:17

Oh mark.........that hole just got deeper. Cristy is not the youngest, I AM!!! And Cristy can only beat me if I am in Labor and carrying my cat during the race.....(long story that she will have to tell you).

From DonGardinero on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:52:39

Sounds like trouble Mark. Get out while you can!!!

Dale

From Kathie on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 22:53:24

Kimmy... What are you doing let out all our secrets? Remember who stayed with and the cat!

From Kimmy on Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 23:34:14

Stayed with the cat? I thought you stayed with me!!!!

From Kathie on Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 13:02:53

It should say "with YOU and the cat" It was just a typo.
