Decided to do interval speedwork tonight on the treadmill.  Set it at 1% and started warm up at 7.0 speed(8:36 pace) for the first 2 miles.  4x 800m at 9.5(6:16 pace) with the 7.0 as recovery.  And cooldown at the 7.0 pace for another mile.  In the last .5 my ankle started to act up.  So might of been to early on hard speedwork.  Will see how the ankle feels tomorrow.

It's always so hard to judge when to push hard when getting over an injury. Hope your ankle feels better soon.

Ditto what Dale said. Running on treadmill is different too. Glad you pay attention to your body.

Wow 7.0 is my race pace I would love it to be my recovery pace!

From huans32 on Wed, Dec 10, 2008 at 15:15:12

Dale- Yea I thought I was ready it feels ok today. As long as it is still getting better and not worse is all I want.

Smooth- Oh this one sure has a different feel to it then other ones that I have ran on.

Kathie- I use to do more like 6.0-.5 warm ups and such. Which seemed slow. This last few months it feels good and comfortable right around 8:30-9 for recovery runs. I think I have just improved my base pace.

Nice workout Mark, I hope the ankle doesn't start bothering you again.

So ... how did the ankle respond to your workout? How is it feeling tonight?
