Well felt like starting the week out better then the last few.  So got up early and ran 3 miles.  At a 8:36 pace with 1% incline.  After a little warm up ankle was fine.  I am going to do a few more lower mile runs to get back into it.  Nice and easy.  Less then 2 weeks till the next race.

Nice and easy wins the race!

My other 2009 goal is to make my quads look like yours... but more feminine... ;)

From huans32 on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 10:31:19

LOL with all the cross training you got going on Lucia. You will be looking great. In a feminine way for sure.:)

Hey Mark glad to see you are up and running again. So do you feel ready for Painters? That is the race you are doing in two week right.

From huans32 on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 13:19:54

Ya I am sure I can run it. I just wont be able to PR at it. I have done a few long runs and was alright going slow. I want to start up Ogden training soon though.

From DonGardinero on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 15:00:45

Glad to hear the pain level wasn't too bad, Mark. Did you get all settled into your new place?

From Smooth on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 15:07:27

Glad to hear your ankle is behaving. Nice and easy is smart. Hey, you have 18+ weeks till Ogden, just in time to start the training. Hope to see you at Painter's.

From Cal on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 16:03:18

Good job Mark. We'll have to plan some Saturday runs once we're both back into the full training mode.

From fly on the wall on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 17:47:52

Way to get in some miles. With the incline datum it sounds like you were on the treadmill. That's a lot safer option. Snow & Ice isn't nice with your ankle sprainkle.

From huans32 on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 17:55:31

Dale- Not yet still getting stuff arranged and such. I have a little pain now from the run but at least its hurting from doing something. I will just keep working it. Nice and easy.

Smooth- Oh I will be at Painters. Even if I have to walk I need to do that one for the series.:) Just nice and easy for sure.

Cal- Sounds like a great plan Cal. I am looking forward to running with you.

Fly- Yep was on the treadmill. I would rather run outside but will opt to using the tread till it is better.

From Lucia on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 17:59:18

... ugh... reading this is making me realize I should go to the treadmill too, but I'm dying to go outside!!! You've inspired me Mark, I'll be good like you :)

From huans32 on Mon, Jan 05, 2009 at 18:03:23

Lucia- Your a inspiration to me with reading what happened to you and your come back. I dont mind running on the treadmill since I have done most of my training on one. Pros and cons for sure with using one. Right now for me it is a big pro.

Glad you were up and running again. I guess you better get in a few miles before Painter's.

From Teena on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:10:08

How is your ankle Mark?

What pace do you think you will run at Painters?

From huans32 on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:23:02

Ankle is still hurting off and on. I have tried icing a bit more ok maybe I have just decided to actually Ice it. And it seemed to help alot after my run on Mon. Couldnt sleep last night so didnt get a run in. But will try to tomorrow morning.

As for my pace I will just go by feel and just want to finish it. Might take some aleve or something before hand to make it more enjoyable. I have almost decided to take some time off of running and work on some other things I have neglected.

From Teena on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:25:19

I am sure you will do whatever is best.

Yes, ice it! (if it's not getting better maybe you need to have it x-rayed)

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 16:55:16

Mark, sorry to hear the ankle's still hurting. Are you able to see a sport medicine doc? I've never seen Dr. Toronto; he seems to be highly recommended by the FRBs here.

Take good care of yourself first and everything will fall into place.
