Went down to the Jordan Parkway and ran with some friends.  Was just a nice slow run so great recovery for my ankle.  It is feeling about 85% back to normal.  So maybe one more slower run and should be wonderful.  I really noticed with this ankle injury just how fragile our bodies are and the need to listen closely to it.  So was a great run.  Not much miles for the week but getting back on course.  One of the people that was with me on the run.  It was her first time running 14 miles and was quite exciting to share that with them.

Nice run Mark. Hope you're inching closer to 100% soon.

Sounds like you had a good run. I'm glad your ankle is almost better.

You ran 14 miles with an 85% ankle? That's active recovery. Rest up so it can get back to 100%. You are so right about our fragile bodies. We should never take for granted when it's healthy and listen to it when it's sending signals. On the other side of the coin, I also marvel at how our bodies can HEAL ITSELF. It gives me a small glimpse of how resurection is possible.

It is always fun to run with someone for the first time. I paced a complete stranger through her first marathon and it was so much fun. My sister-in-law was going to do it but she got injured. It was only my second marathon so I am not sure how much I helped but it was fun just the same.

Cal- Thanks Cal. Yea my ankle is really feeling great now. Today it is around 90%. So I think one more good slow run and then back to normal.

Tarzan- Yea it was enjoyable. Not totally sure on overall paces. Since she had to stop a few times. But for the whole it was 10:30 pace. It was just what I needed for my ankle.

Smooth- Thanks Smooth. Yea it does recover fast sometimes just not fast enough for us crazy runner. But now that I feel that I am almost through it. I am very greatful. Listening to the signals are key I think.

Kathie- Ya this girl I have known for a long time. She is more of a triathelete. Running is just her weakness and working it up. But its great to experience those new miles again with someone. Its all perspectives.

Great run. Even without many miles this week, 14 miles at the end make up for the rest. I hope to hear that ankle is 100% soon.
