Great job! I can't wait for Ogden!

Mark, you do know you have to run at Ogden, you can't do core work through it, right? I assume you have some kind of plan to make Ogden you kick off to training for the BQ? You are going to have to start getting that weekly milage up around 50, minimum, if you want to BQ. I'm sure you look great though, all buff and ripped with your hard core core work.

Are calve walks the ones where you walk around on just your heels? I hate those.

From huans32 on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 18:23:32 from 138.64.2.76

Teena- Its just extra xtraining is all I am doing. Stuff I did before I started running everyday for say. And feel I lacked this year training.

Kathie- Thanks its will be here soon. I am excited too.

Rhett- My goal was to BQ at Ogden till I had that foot problem that dropped my training from 35-50 to very low. I have just been putting in some base miles again. Mostly during the week has stayed the same with increasing longer runs. I didnt want to overtrain getting back up the miles that I lost for those 2-4 months of no real running. At the first of the year I was still at only 4 miles for a long run and that hurt. I should of done what you are Teena are doing with the water running and I could of saved me alot of makeup. I am not looking like I was in SG either. I need to lose another 10 pounds or so. So after Ogden I will start hitting the First training program and also on some of the other days cycle or run again.

Mike- Calve walks or so I call them are the ones you walk on your toes. And the toe lifts or so I call them are ones where your walking on your heels with your toes up. Still working on strenthing my lower legs and ankles.

You're the KING of CORE!!! Sounds like a good plan you have for the summer training. You're gonna get that BQ at SGM.

From Rhett on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 23:16:36 from 216.67.216.116

Mark, I knew you had a plan. Sounds like you are ready to make a charge for that BQ at SGM. I hope your foot doesn't give you any more problems. I know it isn't any fun. One thing I have learned from some of my fellow bloggers is, if you are injured seriously, it's best to let it heal or it becomes a nagging problem.

From huans32 on Fri, May 08, 2009 at 08:43:20 from 138.64.2.76

Smooth- Thanks Smooth. Core is where its at. I am tring to get a full body workout in every other day for say with little luck. But working your core is huge for runners in the long haul.

Rhett- Yeah I got a plan worked out. The foot hurt a bit after that week with the 20 miler and hoped I didnt get set back. But since I am tapering some again it should work really to my advantage. And once I start hitting more running/cycling on the xtraining days that will really help alot. I just didnt want to hit it to hard before Ogden. Since building miles up was more important. And I feel pretty well healed up now. But its taken a few months to get back to here. I just wish you great luck with your recovery. And that you take it easy with running on it and do all your water running and hopefully retain some of your speed and mileage. Was tough starting over from almost the beginning. With such slow miles.
