Todays temps were a bit cooler then last week long run.  And just a slight breeze again.  Was in the 50s I would guess.  Felt just right.:)  Plan was to run 10 @ 7:26.  Didn't quite work out that way.  Borrowed a 305 from a friend and thought I had it set up how I wanted it too.  Soon found out that I got some of the settings messed up or something.  It would keep changing the different windows with different info every few secs or something.  So wasn't sure what it was doing.  Even the distance was changing I think it was from miles to k and back and forth.  And the one that I had set for total time was all 00:00 so I just ran by feel.  Later I started to figure out what I was looking for.  But still confused about it.  ARGH!!  But oh well.  Ended up hitting some fast miles and first hill came and went.  Bit faster then what I wanted overall.  And so I paid for it on the hill.  Or so I thought.  Ended up even finishing the hill stronger then the last 3 times I have ran this route.  And even last week.  Turned around at the top and came back down the hill with .33 on the top and rest downhill.  And finished up .70ish with a quick out and back on a flat road.  Feeling really good for the most part.  Just need to get this watch figured out for the race next week.  So I don't go out to fast again.

Paul- Thanks bro.

Teena- Just figured it out. There was some auto setting to have it cycle through them all. Guess it could be nice. Just not what I am use to or will use.:) So got that little problem figured out. No excuses now.

Awesome job, Mark!!! If you don't get that BQ, I'll be surprised. When I saw you last Saturday, you looked very fit and strong. Keep it up!!!

Great run! Nice pace. I'm liking those temperatures.

Nice talking with you this morning. For sure, get that 305 figured out. I'll have mine along on Saturday..so between the 6 or 8 of us, I'm sure we'll keep the right pace. :-)

The most important settings, I think are:

Disable the Auto-lap (press the lap button at each mile marker) If you miss one, press it twice on the next one. The Average Lap will tell us exactly where we are.

You'll also need Elapsed Time -- we'll compare that with the wrist bands that we're going to use with Cougar's spreadsheet set at 3:15:00 (remember we have an additonal :59 to play with and still get to Boston)

Other than that, make sure the watch is charged and ready to go...just like us!!!

NICE final 10 miler. You hit your pace right on and even faster at some. You are SO READY to BQ next week. I'm getting excited for you and your guys to get that 3:15! WAY TO GO!

Great job Mark! Those are some speedy miles.

Good run Mark. Those Garmins can be tough to get set right. I have mine set to toggle between a couple different screens. I like that because I can have big letter information on the things I want and still have a lot of other info to peak at too.

How do you plan to make your pace band to take with you? Print it, cover both sides with tape and then make a wrist band? One thing I think maybe useful on the band is what Clif Bar pace bands do, and that is to highlight the mile you want to get calories. Maybe highlight aid stations. But that isn't difficult to know, since they are every odd mile.

I'm getting nervous!
