Today is speedwork.  Oh joy.  All I can say is that I am sure I am a distant runner over sprinter.  Today's workout is 2 mile warm up then 5 1k @ 3:44 RI 400m 1 mile cooldown.  So headed to the HS to knock it out after work.  Was like 71 degrees and a bit windy.  Didn't go as well as planned.  First interval came in a bit fast and slowed the pace down even.  So thought I would do the 2nd more even.  Which ended up a bit slower then it should.  Third one came in even slower then the last one.  And noticed I didn't start out as fast so felt like I was playing catch up.  So thought I would try going out faster in the 4th and hold on.  Oh boy that didn't work at all.  Sure the first half was fast and strong but I crashed and burned.  Went back to trying to do a even pace.  And noticed more that I would push hard into the wind and after the windy portion would slow down and start struggling.  I really tryied hard pushing on the last one.  And felt like puking.  And the last cooldown mile felt very close to it.  To say the least not the best run.  But very happy that its over. 4 more till show time.  Here are the splits.

Mile 2 7:40 8x 100 strides

I always go out too fast on the first set too and then hang on with dear life. It's definitely harder to run after a full day's work with warmer temp and wind. WAY to get her done! GOOD JOB! YAY! 4 more runs left!

I've been there too, man. The track has a way of keeping you humble.

Good job getting through it - it is done. It sounds like the effort was an A.

Smooth- Only 4 more. I am excited to finally get to it.:)

Tim- Oh it was quite a humbling experience to say the least. I might of did my warm-up to fast too. Normally do it a bit slower. Either way I was humbled.:)

Great job getting it done! Sounds like a pretty tough workout. Anytime you get close to the puke zone you know you're working. Congrats!
